Global bond yields reach highest level in 15 years
Global government bond yields rose to 3.3% on Wednesday, the highest since August 2008. Bonds have caused investors to lose 1.2% this year, becoming the worst-performing asset class.
Higher US yields continue to attract buyers, with longer-term bonds underperforming (2Y +2bps, 10Y +6bps).
30-year bond yield rises 7 basis points to 4.42%, highest since October last year.
