Market open:
The market opened Thursday's trading session in an environment of significantly reduced liquidity compared to early week. SPY nears the 380 call wall creating resistance for the market, causing most investors to sit out today, reducing volatility across all sectors with selective buying in a few tech stocks. Initial jobless claims rose slightly in the morning, fueling market hopes that the FED would reconsider policy, but those hopes were dashed by comments from Minneapolis FED President Neel Kashkari indicating the FED is “still very far from cutting rates”, pushing bond yields higher across the market.
